It's tough being an artist, and I am an artist.

I've got to do the work.

One of the things that I've tried to do over the last three to five years is The Artist's Way - A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity - 25th Anniversary Edition (2016) by Julia Cameron.

I would recommend this program if you're interested in being any type of artist, filmmaker, painter, writer, sculptor.  It might be for you.

I've attempted to complete The Artist's Way a couple of times and managed to make it to week eight once, and week six the second time.

But this time round, I'm now up to week 12, which is the final week, so I'm super excited to polish it off and finish up.

Julia Cameron, the author, does explain there's many ways to complete The Artist's Way.  You can join groups, you can create a group, you can go through it week by week, or you can kind of flick through and decide to do some of it and go back. It's totally your journey and how you go on that journey. it.

It's basically a journey of creative recovery, and really instigating your own artists to come out of the box and be yourself. I'm super pumped that I've been doing it.

There have been some difficult points along the path because it really does get you to delve deep within yourself and your true artist.

But there's hopefully so many benefits from that. I do know for me; a major benefit already is self-worth and self-love.

I'm keen to keep going on my journey. And I'm keen to take those next steps now. And I think it's just given me that foundation to take that next step in my artist career.

One of the activities in week 11 is to pick just one of the parts of a chapter and record it for future reference.

I chose to create a vlog and within I've recorded an essay from chapter 11, pages 178 to 182, called Acceptance.  This chapter comes from The Artist's Way - A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity - 25th Anniversary Edition (2016) by Julia Cameron.

You can watch the vlog below or on my YouTube channel.

If you made it to the end of my vlog, fantastic, well done to you.

This essay stood out to me as so important because it speaks to my ongoing question about being an artist, making money, having a career, and growing a family.  The Artist's Way - A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity - 25th Anniversary Edition (2016) by Julia Cameron, has enabled me to lean into the art and not worry about the making money side. To me Julia Cameron is teaching artist to just create art.

Thank you, Julia Cameron, for crafting and creating this very important work.  From here, I am creating my own art.

Buy yourself a copy of The Artist's Way - A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity - 25th Anniversary Edition (2016) by Julia Cameron.

Read it, do the programme, and share it with another artist.
