My why is like punk rock!

I want you to wake up.  

I want you to take the red pill.  

I want you to stop and think after viewing my films.  

I want you to take stock of your life, question society and revolt against all the parts that hold you back.  

My why, my values, my creative projects are going to be boiled down to that one key idea = Question everything!  

Question yourself, question society, question the universe.  Be critical of everything.   

This is a manifesto of an artist, not a propagandist.  I want to enlighten my audience and show them the truth so that they look at their life; the misconceptions, the bullshit, the lies, their prejudices and realise that they can change, if they want to.  

I am not promising that I can fix you or change your life situation – that’s up to you.  But I promise to show you the truth.   

I also want my audiences to realise that they are not stuck.  This society we live in is a set of rules that the previous generations agreed to, not us.  We are not stuck in these rules. We can break, mould, shift and turn them inside out if we want to. I want to.   

I am not suggesting a violent takeover but a freedom that comes from knowing the truth. My why is to visually show you that truth, so you can live your life.  

And not the kind of living of working hard, partying hard but the living which involves living your truth. Where you realise what you were meant to contribute to make this planet that little bit better.  What will you give the world?  

So back to punk rock!  

The essence of punk rock is to revolt against the grain.  I hope my films are like punk rock.  My work may be negative and dark or bright and uplifting, but I believe it makes audiences stop, think, question the world they are in and encourages them to go against the grain.
