Decide

Watch the short film written and directed by Mark Regan.

Decide, a short drama film, where every baby born in this society is given their own personal ‘yes/no’ dice.

By law, they must follow what the dice dictates.  To cross a road, to go to work, to get out of bed, to communicate with each other, to ask a girl out, is all decided by the roll of the dice.

One man struggles to conform to the rules of this society; he yearns to make his own decisions.  Resentful and depressed, he decides to break the rules.  He makes a decision without rolling the dice.  When he is confronted by his boss he is reminded of the dire consequences of not following the dice – being medicated to conform .

The man yearns for freedom and love, but the constant reminder of this controlling world breaks his spirit. Down and out he comes across his love.  She is willing to break the rules for their love and convinces him to do that.  They decide to leave the dice behind and live their own lives, with free will.
