Why did Space Brains host and create a film festival?

The whole festival is about giving filmmakers the chance to see their films on the big screen - student filmmakers, local filmmakers, they might not quite have the same budget as the Marvel movies.

And so this festival gives people a chance to actually put their films on that really large screen to an audience that's keen on watching science fiction films.

We want to bring the community together and share the experience of watching films in a communal environment.

We hosted a couple of great workshops at WOTSO which happened in the morning.

Podcasting by Space Brains and Writing workshop by Stephen Dedman.

The inspiring workshops were followed by a red carpet extravaganza at Reading Cinemas Mandurah.

A special keynote speech by award-winning filmmaker Luke Sparke followed by about 13 of the best short international science fiction films that are available in 2023.
