I find it hard to be creative when I get cock-blocked by life, whether that is a vomiting baby at 2am or a punch to the nose from teenage hooligans or a worldwide pandemic.

I wrote short scripts inspired by the films and TV shows I liked. My first script was an entire episode of The X-Files. I read it recently and it is damn good for a teenager’s first attempt at a TV script. Chris Carter (creator of The X-files) when you read this blog, make this episode!

I am 18 years old and cruising along in my 1987 Ford Meteor. I’m listening to Blink 182 on repeat and I’m heading to the beach on a hot December day. Out of nowhere a modern white Toyota van collides with me. My car spins 360 degrees, my chest slams the steering wheel, and my neck cracks.

Growing up in the 1980’s, I thought the world was invincible. I survived the 1987 stock market crash, war in Iraq, long fringes over our faces trend, The Matrix revealing we were batteries for computers, Y2K, My Space popularity and Tony Abbott as Prime Minister. I genuinely felt like the world was damn invincible.

I’ll never forget the night that I walked the dogs and as we came around a bend where the ocean is, I noticed a small white light out to sea. As the light disappeared off into the distance, I was quite confused about it.
